Accommodation
There are several options to stay in Madrid during the conference. Some of them are closer to the conference as they are in the University City, but walking distance is around half an hour (5 minutes in the U bus) and you might need to get a taxi if you come back late at night from the city center. Options suggested in the city center (including a Youth Hostel) allows getting to the conference by regular bus (lines 83, 133 and F) in 10-20 minutes and then you can walk around the city after the conference. There is also a metro station in Ciudad Universitaria so you can also stay in other areas. From the metro station it takes 20 to walk to the conference venue, or 3 minutes with the U bus and 2 minutes walking from the bus stop.
The following map shows hotels and youth hostels that are close to the conference venue (mostly by direct public transportation), as explained for each one below.

Contacts have been made to find hotels and youth hostels. For each option, we describe how the conference venue can ge accessed. The booking procedure varies, as follows:

Take Off travel agency provides the following Special offer for AIED participants. With the booking, it includes for free some guided cultural activities (in Spanish). If the booking is for 3 nights, the guided activity is to the Sorolla Museum. For stays longer than 3 nights, the visit to the Romanticism Museum is also included.

Reservations through UNED travel agency
NOTE: Barceló travel agency has already booked all rooms prereservations. In addition, they are also no longer working at UNED. Nevertheless, Take Off travel agency (see above) can make reservations to the Hotels offered by Barceló (but might not be the same special rate).
The Travel Agency that works for UNED (Barceló Viajes) has come to an agreement with the hotel listed below to pre-book a limited number of rooms in the given prices in some hotels. The booking procedure for hotels at the special rate, is through Barceló-UNED Travel Agency. Participants should directly e-mail the Travel Agency at inplant.uned@barceloviajes.com to make the booking, with subject "AIED 2015 request for reservation", as follows:
- Participant can chose hotels form the list below (in preferred order), and send its request indicating entry day, how many nights, and type of room.
- The Travel Agency receives that information and checks (following the request order) if there are available rooms in one of the hotels selected (following the preferred order).
- If there are rooms available, the Travel Agency sends an e-mail to the participant confirming the booking.
- If there are not rooms available at the given price, the Travel Agency sends an e-mail to the participant giving other options. In this case, the participant has to confirm the suggested booking.
- As soon as we are told that one of the hotels is full, we will inform about that in the conference website. However, there might be some mismatch between website information and rooms hotels availability, since the booking process is done manually by the Travel Agency during working hours.
- Payment will be done by the participant when checking out the hotel. A credit card may be required in advance for guaranteeing the booking.

Youth Hostel in the city center
Participants need to have the International Youth Hostel Membership card: https://www.hihostels.com/info/membership. It can be bought at the hostel (6 euros).

Student residences in the University City
There are some options within the University City. However, the University City is large. Thus, walking from these student residences to the conference venue can take half an hour. There is a regular bus called U that takes 5 minutes (plus some minutes to walk to the bus stop).
